About the Artist
Katrina Pereka was born and raised in the Waikato
but now resides in Palmerston North with her
 Husband and six Children.
Katrina is self taught and has been painting
professionally for about 8 years.
Last year Katrina won a Merit Award at the FADAS Manawatu Art awards
Her Husband Kalwyn Pereka(Ngati Kahungungu &
 Ngati Maniapoto)
inspires and helps designs many of the pieces.
Their faith and culture are the inspiration behind each piece.
Each artwork has a Koru(spiral) in some form.
The Koru symbol represents new life and new beginnings.
